Bangladesh and Denmark pledge continued collaboration

Bangladesh and Denmark have agreed to continue working together in the areas of mutual interest including green growth, climate change, development and trade & investments. The countries also decided to cooperate with each other to counter the global threats of terrorism and violent extremism. This was agreed at a meeting between the Foreign Ministers of the two nations, A. H. Mahmood Ali and Kristian Jensen, on 05 September 2016 in Copenhagen. The two ministers commended the long standing friendly relationship between Bangladesh and Denmark which started immediately after Bangladesh’s independence. This relationship has further been strengthened recently through the signings of a three-year Strategic Sector Cooperation and five-year Development Cooperation between the two countries.

Bangladesh can become an export powerhouse: The World Bank

According to a new World Bank (WB) report, Bangladesh can become an export powerhouse at the level of its East Asian neighbours by improving its business competitiveness and trade regime, which will help firms compete globally. With support from governments, firms can improve their productivity and competitiveness by investing more in training their workers and managers, innovating to introduce new products and processes, as well as making greater use of the Internet to buy, sell, market, or manage their inventory, added the report.
